The Key IVR Service Desk is the first point of call for our clients, providing friendly assistance to anyone needing help with their payment services, from requesting logins and licenses, troubleshooting issues through to ad-hoc reporting.
Oliver Sligsby is an important part of Key IVR’s first line of support, responsible for ensuring the team respond to and resolve all enquiries in a timely manner, liaising and coordinating with other departments when necessary.
- When did you start working at Key IVR?
March 2018. I was previously working in Sheffield, but wanted to get rid of the commute. The job advertised a more hands on approach to IT support which was exactly what I was looking for.
- What does your role involve?
A whole bunch of things! Primarily, it involves logging requests raised by our clients for their services, however also fixing office equipment, helping to build/update new or existing systems, and also assisting with new processes or reporting.
- What is your favourite part about working for Key IVR?
The range of work and jobs to do is great. I prefer coming into work every day when I know there is always going to be something new to learn.
- What have you gained from working at Key IVR?
A few good friends and a much more advanced knowledge of IVRs which I definitely didn’t have previously.
- What makes you proud to work at Key IVR?
We’re a small company, but within the team we currently have you can clearly see the work we all put in to every project and achievement, making this a really great place to work.
- What’s a standard day in the office like for you?
Busy and diverse. I can come in with the intention to work on a certain project but sometimes high priorities take over, you have to be flexible. It keeps me busy during the standard day to day activities. This might include assisting co-workers with any PC issues they may have, configuring our phone system to work how a department needs it to, helping to configure our systems and so on.
- What do you like to do on your days off?
Relax! After a busy week I like to find somewhere new to eat, go to the gym or cinema, and spend my nights out with friends.
- What is the best vacation you’ve ever been on?
I’ve just recently returned from a week away in Torremolinos, Spain. We had an amazing time and the food was lovely, the highlight was a great little restaurant next to the beach that did the best tapas! We had such a good time that we are already looking to book the same location for summer 2019.
- Describe what you were like at age 10.
I was very shy, a little chunky and obsessed with computers.
- If you could do any other job for one day, what would it be?
I’ve always loved the idea of becoming an Astronaut. I’m a bit geeky and really like the whole concept of going to space and experiencing something as mind-blowing as that.
- Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
You could say I have a little zoo at home. With 5 dogs, a snake and a bearded dragon, I’m a massive animal lover.
- What music is on your phone?
I have quite an eclectic range of music on my playlists, ranging from Rhianna to Papa Roach. Although my favourite song to listen to is Sugar by Robyn Schulz.
- Where is your favourite place to eat?
Frankie and Benny’s, my go-to meal is their lasagna, I had it all the time when I was younger so it’s quite nostalgic.
