The Account Managers at Key IVR have the responsibility of building a working relationship with existing and future clients, ensuring they are getting the most from our services.
Aaron Smith is a Technical Account Manager, responsible for assisting Key IVR clients with their payment solutions and integration into their existing business process.
- When did you start working at Key IVR?
It was October 2013. I’d previously worked as a team leader for an Insurance company taking calls from customers, but I needed something different and new. I started at Key IVR doing outbound calls which lead to further development as an Account Manager. - What does your role involve?
I’m accountable for managing existing and prospective clients and helping the sales team through the pre-sales technical process. I also work very closely with the customer success team, providing support at each stage for new and existing customers, including integration troubleshooting, on-site training or go-live days. - What is your favourite part about working for Key IVR?
I’ve been an employee of Key IVR for over 5 years and I have seen it grow from the 8 people that it began with, to over 60. Witnessing and contributing to the rapid growth over the years has given me great job satisfaction.
- What have you gained from working at Key IVR?
I have gained a substantial amount of transferable skills and knowledge in both a technical and client supporting role. I’ve successfully worked with over 60 third parties who have integrated with our solutions, giving me the confidence and experience to help our new clients onboard much quicker and more efficiently. - What’s a standard day in the office like for you?
Thankfully there is nothing in my day that is standard, I get to learn and experience new things daily which is what keeps me highly engaged with Key IVR. - What do you like to do on your days off?
I’m an avid golfer and tend to visit my local golf club every weekend. I also like to socialise with family and friends, including taking my sausage dog Frank for a walk. - Before working at Key IVR, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I previously worked as a painter and decorator for a short while, and whilst decorating a rather nice house, I discovered it was Rio Ferdinand’s old house. I thought that was pretty interesting. - What is the best vacation you’ve ever been on?
I went over to Florida one year, relaxing and spending my time playing golf.
- Describe what you were like at age 10?
I was a typical boy, out on my bike and playing football for the village team. - If you could do any other job for one day, what would it be?
I’d love to be a pilot for a day, that would be awesome. I’ve always been interested in aviation since I was really young and my Nana used to take me to air shows every year, so it’s quite nostalgic. - Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us?
When I was around 7, my mum had roped me into a few modeling jobs which lead to an audition for a Dairylea Dunkers advert. At the time, this wasn’t something I wanted to do, but I went for it and even got a call back. I didn’t get the final job but got an all expenses paid trip to London. - What music is on your phone?
I don’t actually have any music on my phone. But I love The Foo Fighters and anything Rock or from the 80’s. - Where is your favourite place to eat?
Akbars Indian in Leeds. My favourite meal is the mixed meat Jalfrezi
